2010: The Year of No Fear - Day Six

This is kind of a lame continuation of yesterday.

Today I realized that things (all types of things, not just school) are never as hard as they seem. I have a terrible habit of being confronted with a problem and just ignoring it or dreading it but not doing anything. I realized today that it’s really not that hard to deal with things. Approaching something from a logical position works wonders. You need to think “okay, so first i need to do this. and then after i lay out the groundwork i can start to do this. and then eventually it’ll be like this”.

A week ago I was scared to death to have to write a five page paper. Today I realized all I need to do is come up with some ideas (easy), and put them together in a way that makes sense (easy). Of course this conclusion was reached with a little helper named “the time management sheet my teacher gave me” but still. A few days ago I was dreading writing my newspaper article. Today I wrote three. I usually look at math problems and think “no way”. Today I actually took the time to figure it out and felt satisfied with myself.

2010: The Year of No Fear - Day Five

Today I realized that if I set my mind to something and work on it, I can actually do it.

I know that sounds really stupid and obvious, but it’s something I’ve been hearing all my life and mostly ignoring. I always said “yeah, I could do it if I tried, it’s not like I’m stupid, I’m just too lazy.” I realized though that it’s really not that hard to put in a little bit of effort.

It doesn’t take that long to study, and it’s pretty easy to just read the textbook a little and think about it and just DO THE WORK. Instead of my usual “f--k it” attitude, I’ve really been trying to spend the extra time and figure things out.

This doesn’t just go for school but for everything. It may have taken me WAY too long, but I’m glad I finally realized it.

so i have an idea.

honestly, it probably won't go on for very long, but here it is:

every day, i'm going to post a blog. i know, big deal right?
well i kind of plan on having a theme.
"2010: The Year of No Fear" as my beloved Nicholas Jonas calls it, is a time where, as lame as it sounds, I'm already starting to realize a lot of important stuff.
I thought it would be cool [cool is the wrong word] if each day i wrote about something I learned or discovered.
I'll start with today, which would be day five already.

I don't know how long this'll last but i hope i can do it for a while.

BRB GONNA GO GET SIX HOURS OF SLEEP NOW. AWESOME. -___-

OCEAN CITY MARYLAND VACATION RECAP

this is sort of delayed. i dont' care.

SUNDAY. 8/30/09.
-woke up earlyish, ate breakfast
- finished packing my duffle bag :x
-packed car
-we wanted to leave at 9. we left at 11.
-got to OC Maryland around 4.
-checked into Rodeway Inn. It is pink. we had an oceanview balcony. it was cool.
-chilled a little
-leanne and i went to the outdoor pool for a minute, then we went on the beach.
-spent around half an hour on the beach. leanne left. i had to carry everything back alone -_-
-i decided to go in the indoor pool because i was in a bathing suit already and nobody was there
-called upstairs to find out whatever happened to leanne.
-leanne came down and we swam and were really cool
-took showers. it was dinner time. let's go eat guys.
-the boardwalk starts like sort of far-ish from our hotel. so we drove there.
-the parking situations are retarded.
-walked around on boardwalk looking for food.
-found some. it was awesome.
-went back to hotel and slept.
-by "slept" i mean "put on the disney channel and watched it until i fell asleep"
-i slept on the sofa bed. next to the air conditioner -_-.

MONDAY. 8/31/09
-woke up earlier than i have basically all summer.
-investigated hotel breakfast. hotel breakfast consists of packaged danishes, packaged muffins, packaged bagels, coffee/tea/juice blah blah.
-stole some danishes. naturally.
- went to boardwalk
-took "train"[they call it a train. but it has wheels and does not run on a track. aka a tram] to the end of the boarwalk. which is like. three miles.
-chilled. walked around.
-it was REALLY cold/windy. so we bought sweatshirts. well leanne and mommypoo did. and leanne bought two and our mom wore one of hers and i wore our moms?
-i don't remember exactly but i'm sure eating was involved.
-went to ripley's believe it or not museum.
-it was actually not that much of a ripoff. it was pretty big. most of the stuff was dumb though.
-there was a shrunken human head. ew ew ew ew. also there was a room dedicated to mutated animals. like the kinds with extra legs sticking out of their heads. ew.
-ate the entire boardwalk.
-the tram never came again. apparently starting in september it doesn't run past like 5. and they figured "august 31 is close enough bye have fun walking home"
-so we walked home.
-i bought a sweatshirt on the way.
-encouraged leanne to get in shape for the upcoming field hockey season by pushing her from behind yelling "JOG! JOG! JOG PORKY JOG!"
-it actually worked kind of. except i was jogging too. i need a golf cart to chase her in.
-had races from lampost to lampost with leanne. she would cheat and be like "okay it ends at this lamp post" so i'd stop but she'd keep running to the one it actually ended at -_____-
-FINALLY got to the start of the boardwalk where the car was. since we ran a lot our parents were pretty far behind us. and i decided it would be a good idea to go run onto the beach. so i took off my shoes and stuff and ran out on the beach. well my parents walk faster than i judged. and leanne and them left without me. and then i couldn't put my shoes on since my feet were covered in sand. if you know me well you're aware of my dislike of bare footedness. so i walked across the dangerously splintery boardwalk and down the street without shoes :| (I HATE not wearing shoes asldfjalsjdf)
-went "home"
-bathed. chilled on patio. watched disney channel. slept.

TUESDAY 9/1/09
-woke up. stole breakfast foods for later usage.
-went down to outdoor pool
-sat there for a while
-the water was really cold. it was really windy that day :[
-swam/sat.
-decided to go on beach.
-the current in the ocean was legit going sideways.
-went in anyway. with leanne. and boogie boards.
-after like a minute we were in front of the hotel next to ours but not any closer to shore. the ocean carried us sideways but not in -__-
-tried to swim back. impossible.
-decided to get out and walk back.
-finally actually got to shore. trudged back to starting point. repeat. decide enough of that.
-i wanted to sit on the beach. i sat, and a large gust of wind carried sand into my face. bye beach.
-went back to pool for a while.
-it was too cold. said forget this. showered.
-went to play indoor minigolf
-it was aquatic themed. indoors.
-i am terrible at mini golf. and the family loser.
-looked for restaurants to eat in
-decided 'forget this' and went to boardwalk for quality food
-drove to the end where the rides are
-rode rides. they had a roller coaster. nobody would go on it with me. so i said 'forget you guys' and went by myself because i wanted to ride it.
-went out onto boardwalk
-obtained ice cream due to paternal generosity
-went home & slept

WEDNESDAY 9/2/09
-it was time to go home
-said goodbye to beach. "don't get your clothes wet jessica" and of course. large wave came and splashed up and got my clothes wet.
-packed up my stuff while everyone -__-'d at me for not having it done
-realized i lost my camp rock necklace alsdjflajs df-packed car
-drove a bit
-i was under the impression that we were going to go to the delaware outlet malls. i had been mislead.
-the whole trip i was begging for sonic. and wednesday was like free day / driving so i was like CAN WE GO TO SONIC TODAY CAN WE GO TO SONIC SDJFLJSDFLSDF
-WE WENT TO SONIC IN DELAWARE SOMEWHERE
-IT WAS DELICOUS
-took an unnecessary amount of pictures of family eating the sonic goodness
-aklsdfjklasjdfsdlfj became the number one sonic teenie of america
-people at sonic thought i was a freak
-went to wal mart. now let me just say. in new jersey, wal mart is a trashy ghetto store. anywhere south i've experienced, it is a quality supermarket. as in like. the people speak coherent english. and it's not trashy to go there.
-bought miley cyrus ep.
-rode bikes around the bike aisle out of boredom
-until some meanie employee said "ma'am, you're not allowed to ride those". i was like -________-. 23480234 other employees saw me and didn't care? but whatever i'm not five so i stopped riding the bike.
-went back in car
-watched stick it. best movie.
-got home
-greeted dogs
-had dinner.
-the end.
